Calm before the Storm : White Bear Lake

Truly a race against mother nature this morning. I set out to paint, knowing very well I was likely to get rained on as a storm front was rolling through. I had time…and I challenge myself to see what can get accomplished. In the 1hr and 15min of my challenge I did get rained on, slightly enough as I was feeling good putting the finishing touches on the boats and leaves on the branches. 
The composition I choose was the view between the two trees and how the branches made the viewing point more appealing when looking out onto the lake. The clouds were mesmerizing and changed so often, that what I captured was a cross between light and dark.
